What is Asiola?

Asiola is a platform on which creators can launch their big ideas and get support from people who believe in them. Supporters, in turn, can choose from rewards like exclusive products and experiences, designed by the creator, in return for their contribution.

What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a great new way to use the power of the public to raise money for a product or project. Creators imagine an idea, establish a goal, create a campaign, and spread the word to connect with people who might support the idea. These supporters contribute towards the campaign and together, raise funds to make the idea a reality. In return, they receive rewards, so everyone wins.

How does it work?

Creators present their ideas on Asiola and spread the word to their communities. People who support the idea can visit their campaign page on Asiola to learn more and then choose from a range of rewards. The contribution pledged by the supporter to receive the reward goes towards the funding goal to make the idea a reality.

What are the different kinds of campaigns?

All-or-nothing campaigns: if the funding goal is reached, the idea can be put into action and the supporters will receive their rewards; if not, supporters are not charged.

Unconditional campaigns: all contributions made by supporters go to the creator and in return, supporters receive their rewards whether or not the campaign reaches (or surpasses) its funding goal.

What are rewards?

Rewards are the products or services that supporters get in return for their contribution towards the campaign.

Who is responsible for delivering the reward?

Campaign creators are responsible for delivering the rewards, which, in many cases, they will have created especially or exclusively for the campaign. However, the Asiola team can provide additional support with rewards fulfillment if creators require.

How is Asiola different?

Asiola differs from other crowdfunding platforms in that the ideas are specifically relevant to communities in Thailand. We curate a roster of creative ideas that will have an impact right here. Additionally, Asiola offers add-on services for an extra fee to make it easy for creators to build and run successful and effective campaigns; these services include campaign video production, PR and marketing. Finally, when a campaign is successful, we work with the creators to ensure that rewards are delivered as promised, giving supporters peace of mind.

What is the “funding goal” and the “campaign deadline”?

The funding goal is the amount of money required to make the idea happen and the campaign deadline is the date that the campaign closes.

What happens when the campaign reaches the funding goal and/or its deadline?

All-or-nothing campaigns: if the the funding goal is reached, payments will be processed and the project can be put into action. When the campaign deadline is reached, rewards will be processed and delivered. If at the deadline the goal has not been reached, no payments will be processed.

Unconditional campaigns: payments will be processed whether or not the funding goal is reached and all rewards will be delivered after the deadline is reached.

Is there any restriction on what can be crowdfunded?

We welcome creative and community-driven ideas that are worth supporting and select those that will make a difference or inspire people right here in Thailand.

Can the creators of campaigns raise more money than their funding goal?

Yes, while there is a time limit for each campaign to reach its funding goal, there is no funding limit. Some campaigns may already have stretch goals built in while others may choose to add stretch goals as their campaign progresses and they get inspired.

Can supporters take equity?

No, it isn’t possible for supporters to take equity in Asiola or its campaigns at this time. But stay tuned for future updates.

PAYMENTS
How can I pay to support an idea?

When you decide to contribute towards a campaign, you can pledge to buy a reward.

Choose the reward you like, input your credit or debit card information and the funds for that reward are reserved until the campaign reaches 100% of its funding goal.

Do I have to pay for a reward upfront?

Before an all-or-nothing campaign reaches 100% of the funding goal, you pledge to buy a reward by inputting your or credit or debit card details. Your payment won’t be processed until the campaign reaches 100% of its funding goal.

When you support an unconditional campaign, your payment is processed upfront; the contribution goes to the creator and your reward is guaranteed.

What happens to my payment if a campaign doesn’t reach its funding goal?

If an all-or-nothing campaign does not reach 100% by the campaign deadline, your credit or debit card will not be charged and the reserved funds will be released.

Payments to support an unconditional campaign will be processed and rewards delivered whether or not it reaches its funding goal.

What currencies does Asiola support?

All credit and debit card transactions will be charged in Thai Baht but you can pay using your local currency, which will be converted based on the daily exchange rate.

I don’t have a credit/debit card. Can I still use Asiola?

If a campaign reaches 100% of the funding goal (and is therefore successful) before the campaign deadline, existing supporters’ payments will be processed and new supporters are able to access a number of additional different payment options. These include:

  • • Online banking
  • • ATM transfer service from any Thai bank
  • • Paypal
  • • Rabbit LINE Pay
  • • Cash over the counter at outlets including Big C, Tesco Lotus and Tops supermarket – use the barcode on your email confirmation and pay for your rewards along with your groceries.

What credit cards are accepted?

Visa, MasterCard, and JCB credit cards are all supported at this time.

What local debit cards are accepted?

Our payment system supports Kasikorn Bank, Siam Commercial Bank, Bangkok Bank and Krungthai Bank debit cards at this time and we hope to add more in the future. In order to use your debit card, please ensure you have online shopping enabled. Choose from the links below to visit your bank for instructions on enabling online shopping:

My payment was rejected by my bank. What should I do?

If your card is a debit card, it's likely that it is not yet activated for online shopping. Choose from the links below to visit your bank for instructions on enabling online shopping:

Can I pay with cash?

Paying by cash, or using our over-the-counter service, is available only when a campaign reaches 100%. Please note that cash payments need to be completed within 2 days (48 hours) after you complete the transaction on Asiola.

Can I get a refund after I have contributed towards a campaign?

We don’t offer refunds because every contribution pledged by a supporter counts towards the funding goal. If any contributions are refunded, it puts the idea in jeopardy and could result in it not being made possible.

MY ACCOUNT
How do I edit my profile?

Simply click on the menu to the top right of your screen, go to My Account, and click Edit.

I forgot my password.

If you can’t remember the password to your account when you go to log in, you can click Forgot Password. An email will be sent to you and you can follow the instructions to create a new password.

How do I delete my account?

At Asiola, we never share your personal information with any third-parties so your information is safe with us. However if for any reason you want to completely delete your account,  you can email support@asiola.com.

How can I contact Asiola?
